Soccer Star Gets Clocked Going 104 MPH On The Streets In His Porsche

Published by PGI Auto on February 22nd, 2012

Who says you can’t drive your Porsche over 100 mph on the streets when the speed limit is 70 mph?  Unfortunately, the police do.  And, yet, it’s still fun to know that when you own a fast car, it’s not completely going to waste.  Nicklas Brendtner, a Danish professional football star, agrees with me as he was late for a flight and drove 34 mph over the speed limit to get there on time.

Nicklas Brendtner, who is 24, has one child with the Baroness Caroline Luel-Brockdorff.  The Baroness is a wealthy member of Danish royalty.

During the court hearing for the incident, the prosecutor, Sarah Robinson, told the judge Brendtner was spotted in his Porsche 911 Turbo convertible driving exactly 103.6 mph for  0.137 miles.  Brendtner’s attorney defended him by stating that there was very little traffic, good weather and he never put anyone in danger.  Ultimately, Brendtner was charge with a 660 Euro fine and a 56 day driving ban.

‘Risky Business’ Porsche On Sale In Chicago

Published by PGI Auto on February 15th, 2012

The 1979 Porsche 928 used in the movie “Risky Business” will be put up for sale sometime this week by the Volo Auto Museum.  The vehicle will be put up on the museum’s website for around $55,000.  If this particular Porsche did not have the Hollywood glitz attached to it, it would probably sell for around $7,800.

The previous owner of the car was told that the movie’s producer, Jon Avnet, used this car to teach Tom Cruise how to drive a stick shift.  For those who don’t know, the “Risky Business” movie stars Tom Cruise as the main character and Rebecca De Mornay as the “love interest”.  Tom Cruise’s character is a high school student whose parents go out of town, leaving him to tend the house alone.  When a mishap with his father’s Porsche happens, he must find a way to raise a lot of money to get it fixed before his parents come home.  The Porsche is the same 1979 928 on sale this week.

The Porsche has been described as not being in the best condition andt has over 100,000 miles on it.
